  Can the Watchtower Society survive without time reports?

  there has already been much discussion about how the watchtower society has declared in australia that going door to door is part of a personal ministry.

  this seems to be a lame attempt to avoid liability considering that they require time reports and have formal meetings for field service at the kingdom hall.. this is a bit of a dilemma.

  reporting time and formal meetings for field service are important methods of control, however it's not clear if the organization is willing or able to handle the potential liability that may come from this.. imagine what would happen if they lost these methods of control.

  so this week was stressful and emotional.

  my husband's witness family found out that we where not attending meeting anymore.

  she stated if "i keep talking like i am i'm going to get myself disfellowshiped.

  hi everyone, it's been a long time since i posted on here(other than commenting on exsisting posts) and wanted to share something with all of you.. yesterday i donated blood for the first time.

  lightning did not strike me, i did not have a car accident on the way home and the blood committee was not waiting outside for me.. i have been researching blood donation for a couple of years, but never worked up the nerve to actually do it.

  the canadian blood services website is very informative and the woman i talked to when booking the appointment was very nice as well.. so, as i am driving to the appointment, i can feel my heart racing and my blood pressure going up.

  i asked a jw in an email to do a google image search of these words-.

  "1914 , the generation that will not pass away"- and guess what?.

  they emailed me back a couple days later and accused me of sharing apostate material!

  Yes it's apostate, all old light technically is apostate according to their own standards, however they'll quote the snot out of it if it has just one morsel they can still use; but we aren't supposed to go back and look for ourselves because well, it's apostate.

  that would be approximately 14 generations.

  What exactly is a relasionship with God?

  growing up and jw and being around them all my life i constantly heard the expression "a relasionship with god".

  this always confused me, because how do you have a relasionship with someone that doesn't talk back to you after praying?

  this was always rationalized as god talks back to you when you read the bible.

  I've always felt that a relationship with god is kinda skeevy, like I wanna get real close with the stalker who knows everything about me and always sees me nekkid.

  I don't think if God exists, he really gives a crap. Read the bible, he is only concerned about HIS purpose, you're just collateral and your relationship doesn't mean jack squat unless it proves HIS point.
